Brown Sugar Scrub

Brown Sugar Scrub

This scrub is fantastic, not only because of the results it yields, but also because of the simplicity of the ingredients.  This scrub calls for items that you probably already have lying around your kitchen.  I am a big fan of natural and organic remedies and beauty treatments and this one is a definitely an All-Star.  As we are all ready to slough off the dead dry skin cells that have encumbered us throughout the long winter months, this scrub provides the perfect foray into the bright spring skin that we have all been desparately longing for!

Ingredients

1/2 fresh squeezed lemon

1/3 cup brown sugar Unknown

1 tbsp. of coconut oil images-1

Benefits

Lemon: Lemon is a natural source of Vitamin C, commonly used to even out akin tone and is also a natural astringent
Coconut Oil: Conditions and moisturizes the skin
Brown Sugar: A natural exfoliator that is softer than other sugars

Directions

  1. Heat the coconut oil until it’s melted in a microwave safe bowl (10-25 seconds depending on microwave’s strength), and then stir in the sugar, mashing it up with your spoon.
  2. Finally, squeeze the lemon on top and mix.

Tips

This Scrub is a great natural exfoliator. I find that it’s best to use this scrub before taking a shower, as it can be a bit messy.   Tie hair back, wet face with warm water and then work the scrub on face neck and décolletage using firm circular motions for 1-3 minutes. You can use this scrub on any and all areas that need special attention and moisture (knees, elbows, hands, feet etc.). Rinse off with warm water (or enter into shower and rinse off). You will be amazed at the clarity and smoothness of your skin, targeted by this scrub.
